What happens after I receive a quote?
Our team will give you a call to confirm a few details. If you haven’t already uploaded some pictures or a video, we can conduct a survey via a video call. Once you are happy with your quote, you can then be booked in for your installation.
Can I discuss my quote with someone?
We are always happy to discuss quotes and go through everything with you. When our team reaches out to you please feel free to ask any questions or discuss any concerns, we are always very happy to help!
How long does installation take?
Installation typically takes around 2 – 4 hours depending on the complexity. We will be able to give you a clear indication on this from the survey.
What’s the lead time?
Our lead times are between 7 – 10 days for installation. The best way to get an installation date as quickly as possible is to complete the contact form as promptly as you can, so that we can start planning your installation and get you booked in.

What do I need to do before I book in?
Before we can provide a date for your installation, we need to know some information about your home and your installation requirements. You can do this by filling out the details in the contact form. The information is used to safely plan your installation and finalise the cost. Once all of the relevant information has been provided, we’ll review your application and we may ask for additional information if this is needed to help plan your installation.
Where should I install my charger?
Your charger should be installed somewhere you can easily park your car and plug in to charge. Consider the location of the charging port on your car and whether your preferred charger location will require a tricky reverse onto your drive to plug in.
Our Ohme Home Pro comes with a 5m cable as standard, but you can choose to upgrade to
the 8m option if your parking spot is a little further away
What to expect on my installation day?
Your engineer will arrive within a window provided to you
on your installation date. The engineer will greet you and discuss the installation plans, during the installation power for you’re property will be turned off for a very brief period of time.
Once everything has been completed, your engineer will conduct some tests and guide you
through the Ohme App.
Charger Units & Charging
What is the quality of Ohme units like?
Ohme chargers are one of the most tried and tested chargers in the UK. They integrate with any energy supplier or tariff, use the latest dynamic charge technology and are very highly regarded units.
Should I choose with or without a cable?
A tethered charger comes with the Type 2 cable permanently attached to the unit, making it convenient for users. An untethered charger will simply be a socket where you can plug in the cable that comes with your car.
The choice is purely personal preference, as both tethered and untethered chargers function the same way.
Are Ohme Chargers Ugly Or Unsightly?
Ohme chargers are some of the most aesthetically pleasing units on the market. They are small, compact and very modern, looking neat and tidy when installed outside your property.
How much will it cost to charge my EV?
You can charge your car for as little as 2p per mile. On average, the overnight electricity rate is 15p per kWh however fees do vary dependant on the network and energy supplier you use.
How long will my car take to charge?
It can take as little as 30 minutes to charge an electric car, this is really dependant on the size of the battery and speed of the charging point. A standard electric car with a 60kWh battery takes less than 8 hours to charge from empty to full with a 7kW charging point.
I have my own charging cable is that ok?
Yes of course. In this case you should opt for an untethered unit which is supplied with a socket entry only (no cable attached).
Can I schedule off peak charging?
For sure! You can use the "Price cap" feature in the Ohme app. This allows you to specify the maximum price you're willing to pay for electricity, ensuring your car charges during the cheapest times of your electricity tariff. You can also use the "Regulated Charging Hours" setting to avoid charging during peak demand times on the national grid. Additionally, Ohme can automatically adjust charging based on grid carbon intensity if you enable the "Favour Green Energy" feature.
Is there an app and is it hard to use?
Yes, Ohme EV chargers have a dedicated and very easy to use Ohme app. This app unlocks all the benefits of using the smart features of the charger, allowing you to control charging schedules, view charging stats, and access other great features. The app is available for both Android and iOS devices.
On your installation day, your installer will take the time to set up and show you how to use the app on your mobile device.

We recommend servicing your charger yearly to ensure efficiency and safety.
How can I arrange a service plan?
Plug In Stations offers a unique yearly health check service plan option for our clients at a discounted rate. Get in touch for more info.
How should i look after my charger?
Aside from general care, your charger should be kept clean, and if you have a tethered cable, it should be wrapped on the U-Hook on the wall and plugged into the holster. We recommend a yearly health check to make sure the charger is being maintained properly.

Yes, the OZEV Grant, also known as the Office for Zero Emission Vehicles Grant, is a government initiative in the UK designed to encourage the adoption of electric vehicles (EVs). It provides financial assistance to help cover the cost of installing an EV charging station at home.
Do I qualify for the OZEV Grant?
You might qualify for the OZEV Grant if you meet the criteria. Simply fill out the contact form and our system will check your details to see if you qualify automatically!
How much can I save with the OZEV Grant?
The OZEV Grant can cover up to 75% of the cost of installing an electric vehicle charging station at your home, with a maximum contribution of £350.
How do I apply for the OZEV Grant?

Once you’ve completed the contact form, our system will identify whether you’re eligible for the grant and discount it from your quote.
Once our team have verified the evidence supplied, we will book in your installation and on completion, submit the application on your behalf.
What if I’m ineligible for the OZEV Grant?
You can still proceed with the installation of your EV charging station even if you do not qualify for the OZEV Grant. We will ensure we give you the very best price on your install either way!

What to expect on my installation day?
Your installation engineer will arrive within a window provided to you on your installation date. Installation will take around 4 hours but Some installations take a little longer (or a little less), but your engineer will keep you updated.
During that time, we’ll need to turn your power off for a short while so that we can safely install your charger and if possible, it would be really helpful if you could clear the area where we’ll be running any cables, especially around your fuse board and electricity meter.
Do make sure any animals (especially dogs) are kept safely away from the installation site whilst your charger is being installed.
If your EV hasn’t yet been delivered (or isn’t at home on the day), your engineer will still test your new charger and help you pair it to the Ohme app.
Someone should be at home to agree on the location of the charger with the engineer, to ensure it’s somewhere you’re happy with and can conveniently charge your car.
Any other questions or concerns during the installation can be raised with the engineer on-site or with our Customer Support Team .
